BUILDING UP THE NEXT GENERATION OF GIRLS

MISSION STATEMENT

Challenging the next generation of girls to Edify themselves by embracing their self-worth and learning to face the challenges of life.

ABOUT US

Edify Teens Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works to empower all girls to be confident, skilled, and brave. We illustrate our mission through Edify Teens, Inc. (ET) a mentoring program dedicated to building young ladies and Edify Teens Life Center (ETLC), which provides resources such as social services, financial support, shelter, education, and employment for young mothers who were victims of abuse and sex trafficking. Our passion is to serve our young girls and heal the wounds of today to foster a brighter tomorrow; and host of ETM Girls on a Mission Annual Girls Retreat, which edifies God’s word to young people.

VISION

It is our vision to inspire a generation of young girls who are emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically secure and fierce! We aim to ET young ladies ages 10-21 to overcome adversity and cultural challenges in the community. Empowering them to accomplish their dreams and goals while letting their voices be heard.

GOAL

Through resources, we will teach our young ladies to delay sexual activity and to physical and mental health awareness.  Our programs will produce a sense of character, integrity, self-worth, purity, and purpose in our girls. To increase community service with the support of partnerships with many local and national organizations and businesses. Intervention execution and coalition are far more likely to be successful if they are informed by the culture of the community with an understanding of the relationship between individuals and the groups involved.

Our goal is to provide a haven for our girls to include shelter, education programs, and coaching programs. We are currently building housing for our mothers who are victims of sex trafficking. We aim to provide awareness and advocate for our girls during their most vulnerable moments.

Edify Teens map out their future on MLK Day

Members of Edify Teens spent their Martin Luther King Jr. Day illustrating their own dreams with the help of magazine cutouts. “We’re kicking off the year and also kicking off with Martin Luther King having a dream. You have to have a dream in order to achieve some big things in your life,” she said. “Today we are doing vision boards,” said Edify Teens volunteer and activity leader Loren Taylor. “Really what Elsie Dunn (founder of Edify Teens) is trying to do with this organization is transform our community by helping these girls have a vision. A lot of times people don’t know to dream. No one has ever told them to aspire to do something. So we’re trying to use this visualization tool to get them to set goals ultimately.” (Read More)
